Video capture from analog devices requires a special video capture card that converts the analog signals into digital form and compresses the data. A simple inexpensive ($39) video camera can sit on top of your computer and have its video "captured" for recording or for transmission over the Internet via video conferencing.

"How'd you do that pic with your cat and the cartoon mouse in yesterday's animated GIF?"

I "stole" the mouse animated graphic from the WEB. I used Paint Shop Pro to resize the cat picture to a size that would be appropriate. Luckily, the cat pic had a black background on the left side so it meshed perfectly with the black background of the mouse pic and the black background of the web page. I then just inserted the two pics side by side and it gives the effect of a single picture.
